William Virgil Kupfer, a cherished member of the Old Monroe community in Missouri, passed away peacefully at his home on December 29, 2021, at the age of 82. Survived by his loving wife, Terri Diane Kupfer, William was a devoted father to Bob, David, and Heather, and a proud grandfather to a host of grandchildren.
His career as a Mechanical Engineer at McDonnell Douglas/Boeing spanned nearly five decades before his retirement in 2010. William’s passion for travel took him and Terri on adventures across the United States and Europe, where he indulged his love for history and exploration.
Described as a supportive father and grandfather, William actively participated in coaching sports and volunteering for various events, always eager to engage with others. His sociable nature endeared him to many, and his absence will be keenly felt by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
William Virgil Kupfer is survived by his brother Edward Kupfer and sister Marlene Green. He is preceded in death by his siblings Alice Rost, Virginia Weiss, and his parents, Inez and Ervin Kueck. In his memory, donations can be made to the National Brain Tumor Society.
The Baue Funeral Homes, where services were held, adhered to CDC guidelines to ensure the safety of all attendees. The visitation took place on January 5, 2022, followed by a funeral service at Baue Cave Springs in Saint Charles, Missouri.
With 66 visits logged in the guestbook, the outpouring of support and condolences is a testament to the impact William had on those around him. The community joined together to honor his memory, sending flowers and planting trees in his name.
William’s legacy as a dedicated professional, a loving family man, and a friendly presence in the lives of many reflects a life well-lived. His spirit of curiosity, generosity, and kindness will continue to inspire those who remember him.
