Beloved Byron Figure Jeff Carson Leaves Legacy of Love

Jeff Carson, a beloved figure in Byron, Georgia, passed away on October 30, 2019, leaving behind a legacy of love and craftsmanship. Born in Fort Valley, Georgia, Jeff was a man of many talents. A regional vice president for Primerica, he also founded the Big Peach Antiques and Collectibles Mall in Byron, showcasing his entrepreneurial spirit.

Jeff was more than just a businessman; he was a skilled carpenter and machinist, known for his ability to fix and create things with his hands. His passion for construction led him to tackle various projects, from decking to remodeling, leaving a mark of craftsmanship wherever he went. His latest endeavor, a handcrafted reclaimed wood table for his son and daughter-in-law, exemplified his dedication to his family.

Remembered for his positive attitude and extroverted nature, Jeff touched the lives of many with his kindness and generosity. He had a special way with children, often tutoring them in math and other subjects. Described as a gentle and loving father, Jeff’s unwavering support and encouragement inspired those around him to pursue their dreams and forge their own paths.

Despite facing a year-long battle with cancer, Jeff remained resilient and optimistic, embodying a spirit of perseverance that inspired all who knew him. His passing marked the end of an era, leaving a void in the hearts of his family, friends, and the community he served.

Preceded in death by his father, John K. Carson, Sr., Jeff is survived by his children, Cindy and Dylan Carson, his mother Beverly H. Carson, and his brothers, Jim and John K. Carson, Jr. Alongside his niece, nephew, cousins, and cherished friends, Jeff’s memory lives on in the lives he touched and the hearts he warmed.

To honor his life and legacy, family and friends gathered at the Farmhouse at McCullough Funeral Home on Saturday, November 23, 2019, sharing memories and celebrating the impact Jeff had on their lives. McCullough Funeral Home and Crematory had the privilege of overseeing the arrangements, ensuring that Jeff’s final farewell was a testament to the love and respect he garnered in his community.

Jeff Carson’s passing marked the end of an era in Byron, Georgia, where his contributions to business, craftsmanship, and community will be remembered for years to come. His legacy serves as a reminder of the power of kindness, perseverance, and unwavering support in the face of adversity.
