Dallas-based retailer Flea Style, founded by Brittany Cobb, continues to expand its footprint beyond Texas as it prepares to open its sixth boutique in Prosper this fall. Cobb, a California native who settled in Texas in 2001, has been scouting markets and antique malls for unique items and vendors to feature in her stores.
With the addition of her first Chief Financial Officer and over 100 employees, Flea Style’s growth is evident. The store’s new location in Jerry Jones’ Gates of Prosper marks its sixth local boutique, with plans to venture outside Texas, starting with Louisville, Ky., where Flea Style recently signed a lease to open a store inside the Omni Hotel.
While eyeing opportunities in Oklahoma and Tennessee, Cobb also aims to collaborate with Dallas-based Omni Hotels and Resorts to establish stores in various states. Despite this expansion, Cobb remains committed to Texas, with plans to open another store at the Dallas Farmers Market.
Aside from physical stores and an online presence, Flea Style has introduced a mobile hat bar, bringing its unique DIY hat design experience to various locations. The hat bar has made appearances in different states, catering to events and private parties.
The hat bars have become a significant part of Flea Style’s business, representing more than half of its sales. Customers can create custom Western hats using a variety of materials available at the in-store DIY projects. The mobile hat bar, housed in a 20-foot box truck, offers a unique experience for shoppers.
Since its inception in 2009 as a quarterly pop-up event, Flea Style has evolved into a multi-faceted retail concept. From e-commerce to physical stores, the brand has steadily grown, offering a diverse range of products including apparel, accessories, home decor, and its signature hat bar experience.
Cobb’s strategic approach to blending retail with unique experiences has resonated with customers, evident in the success of Flea Style’s various locations and the popularity of its mobile hat bar. As the brand expands beyond Texas, its innovative retail concept continues to captivate audiences across different states.
With plans for further expansion and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer experiences, Flea Style’s journey exemplifies the intersection of creativity, entrepreneurship, and a deep passion for curating distinctive retail offerings.
