Alice Virginia Haynes, aged 88, peacefully passed away on August 14, 2024, in Dayton, OH. Born on October 29, 1935, in Berea, OH, Alice cherished time with her family, particularly her grandchildren. She had a passion for gardening, canning, and fishing in her earlier years. After retiring to Crossville, TN with her husband, David, Alice created over 20 years of cherished memories.
Her weekends were spent at the Crossville Flea Market, evenings at the local Palace Theatre, and summers visiting family while traveling in her camper. Alice’s presence will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate to know her. Preceding her in death were her husband, David Haynes, her mother Olive Budweg, brother Ralph Budweg, and her beloved dog, Rocky.
Alice is survived by her children: Bobby Haynes, Donna Haynes, Ruthie Haynes, Bill (Sherry) Haynes, Lois Robinson, Mary Jarusiewic, and Wilma (Bryan) Coberly. She leaves behind 11 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Surviving sisters include Barb Treaster and Wilma Eucker. Alice’s sister, Claire Reindl, also passed away on the same day, joining her in Heaven.
Visitation for Alice will be held on August 17, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM, followed by services at the Newcomer Funeral Home – North Chapel in Dayton, OH. She will be laid to rest alongside her husband, David, at Burnside Cemetery in Burnside, KY, on August 18, 2024, at 2:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Masonic Home in Springfield, OH, in memory of Alice Virginia Haynes. Her legacy will live on through the memories she created and the lives she touched.
