Thai Ambassador Launches Flea Market Showcasing Authentic Cuisine in Seoul

In a vibrant display of cultural exchange, H.E. Mr. Tanee Sangrat, the Thai Ambassador to the Republic of Korea, inaugurated the Flea Market: Thai Street Food at Shinheung Haebangchon Market in Seoul on June 24, 2025. This event marked a collaborative effort between the Thai Embassy and community leaders to introduce a taste of Thailand to the bustling streets of Seoul. The initiative aimed to test the waters for potentially establishing a Thai Town within the market.

Paris Flea Market: Les Puces de Paris, Saint-Ouen

The Flea Market featured 25 Thai entrepreneurs showcasing a diverse array of authentic Thai cuisine, beverages, merchandise, and handicrafts. Additionally, attendees were treated to traditional Thai massage demonstrations by the Nuad Thai Volunteer Association in the ROK, adding a touch of wellness to the cultural extravaganza. The ambiance was further enriched by lively Thai musical performances courtesy of the Thai Students Association in the ROK.

Among the distinguished guests at the event were Mrs. Sirirat Srichart, Labour Attaché, and Mr. Krist Mekkriengkrai, head of the consular section, who lent their support to the immersive Thai experience. The market also saw the participation of Mr. Pawpisit Sriprateep, the visionary behind two renowned Thai restaurants, PAD KA PAW and Ginn Laoo Thai Issan Bistro, located within the vicinity of Shinheung Market.
